The skills below aren't just things I've read about โ they're tools I've actually used in coursework, competitions, and projects. Business analysis sits at the centre of all of it, and everything else โ data tools, communication, organisation โ feeds into being better at that core work. I'm still actively growing each of these, which is exactly how I want it.
Advanced Excel is my main tool here โ financial modelling, pivot tables, data organisation, and turning raw numbers into something a decision-maker can actually use. I find this kind of work genuinely satisfying, and I keep looking for ways to push my analysis further.
Whether it's a detailed report in Word or a structured presentation in PowerPoint, I know how to put together professional deliverables that communicate clearly. Good formatting and layout matter more than most people realise, and I take that seriously.
I've worked with MySQL hands-on โ creating tables, defining keys, writing queries to pull and manipulate business data. Knowing how data is structured helps me work with it more intelligently, which ties directly into the analysis side of things.
Strong written and verbal communication โ I can take something complex and make it clear and concise for different audiences. This came together most clearly in the case study competition, where presenting confidently under pressure made a real difference.
Juggling coursework, projects, and personal commitments has taught me a lot about how to plan and prioritise properly. I'm consistent about deadlines and quality โ not because I'm naturally organised, but because I've learned that structure makes everything else easier.
Breaking down a messy business problem, finding what's actually driving it, and building a clear recommendation โ that's the kind of thinking I've been training. Winning the National Case Study Competition at Skill Week 2026 was proof that this approach holds up under competitive conditions.
